Although he initially aspired to attend Harvard University, he redirected his educational path to Northeastern University after learning that Harvard did not offer a pharmacy program. At Northeastern, he excelled, earning a PharmD degree with high honors and securing multiple academic awards on a merit-based full scholarship.

Before entering medical school, Dr. Okafor took some time to explore his passion for music, engaging in songwriting and performance. Pharmacy Practice and Academic Contributions
Mark Okafor, MD, began his professional career at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy, renowned for its leading position in pharmaceutical education and research in the U.S. Significant academic and clinical contributions marked his tenure at UCSF.
Following UCSF, he served as a clinical staff pharmacist in Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic, a major non-profit academic medical center known for its integrated clinical care and research.
